Eyeball vs dome — which is better outdoors?

Eyeball for outdoor under-eave, soffit, and wall positions where aiming flexibility matters and IR sharpness is the priority. Dome for vandal-resistant indoor commercial and undercover positions where the sealed IK10 housing is the key advantage. See our detailed breakdown in the body above.

WizSense vs TiOC eyeball cameras — which do I need?

WizSense for general monitoring positions — it detects, alerts, and records. TiOC for high-risk entry points — it detects, then activates strobe and siren to deter in real time. Most effective systems use both: TiOC at the entry, WizSense for coverage.

What resolution should I choose?

6MP for most Australian homes and small commercial sites — sharp enough for face and plate identification at typical driveway distances (5–15m), manageable storage requirements. 8MP 4K for wider coverage areas where digital playback zoom is frequently needed.

Do eyeball cameras work in heavy rain?

Yes. IP67 certification means full waterproof protection. All Dahua eyeball cameras in our range are rated for permanent outdoor installation in all Australian weather conditions.

What is AcuPick and do I need a special NVR for it?

AcuPick lets you search recorded footage by clothing colour, vehicle colour, or vehicle type in seconds. It requires a compatible Dahua AcuPick NVR alongside a WizSense 3-series camera. Check our Dahua Pro Series NVRs for compatible recorder options.
